Yesterday I was introduced to the joys of biking around cambridge. I'm no the most confident cyclist around vehicles, so that was terrifying at first, but I think I'm getting pretty used to it. And it's certainly the best way to get around here.
Went to the Freshers fair and signed up for a significant chunk of the societies there (five different varieties of martial arts, for instance). I'm not sure why. I've registered to have my brain scanned bytwo separate groups of people, all in the name of research. So I'll have plenty to do.
today I have an introductory lecture; "real" lectures begin tomorrow. That should be interesting. Then of course I have all the standard rushing around doing stuff, including formally entering the college.
Opted to go on a "cafe crawl" last night, since I didn't feel like drinking (the main event was a pub crawl). It turned out to be very enjoyable, and I'm glad I went. In particular we went to a wonderful vegetarian place, the Rainbow Cafe (opposite the entrance to King's, down an alley, btw). Tried guanabana juice there, and it's absolutely gorgeous, honestly. I've also become addicted to chocolate-coated coffee beans. Worryingly expensive tastes for a student, but there you are.
All in all, things are going pretty well so far, and hopefully this state of things will continue.

Glad you're having a nice time. Hopefully you'll provide those researchers with some interesting new data. Incidentally I too enjoy chocolate coated coffee beans. (I really ought to email you instead of attempting to converse via your blog.) Hope everyone else is ok.
